A Conspiracy of Silence

Can't sleep.
Fuck this shit.
I hate insomnia.

A particular article caught my eye today.
Normally Drew Sharp is an annoying, pessimistic bastard.
However, when dealing with Sandusky and PSU, there is no way to be optimistic.
There is no excuse for allowing children to be violated.
Fucking ever.
I particularly agree with Sharp on this point:
"There's a special place in hell for Sandusky, convicted on 45 of 48 counts of criminal sexual abuse over a span of 15 years."
I don't care if you are an atheist or not.
I don't even care if you don't believe in Hell.
If there is any form of moral absolutism in the world, Jerry Sandusky is evil.
There are good people, immoral people, amoral people, etc.
Jerry Sandusky is fucking evil.

This tragedy should teach us an important lesson.
No matter how much you trust, idolize, or believe in someone, you must always be skeptical.
Not paranoid.
If a few people had followed their gut instead of pointlessly following the "Penn State tradition," dozens of children could have been spared the horrific crime of sexual violation.

Don't ever, ever, ever, ever blindly assume someone is perfect.
My dumbass self included.
There are things in this world more important than a football team.
And protecting a child from a lifetime of horror is included in that category.
Being an accomplice to (or covering up) a crime is just as bad as, if not worse than, committing the crime itself.

Grow a pair of balls.
You're an adult.
It's your responsibility, whether desired or not, to protect those weaker than you.

Even dedicated dickhead Drew Sharp understands that.
